    Course Structure
There are three main parts to the course- Theory, Confined Water sessions (in the swimming pool) and Open Water Sessions (in the sea). All course materials are available in multiple languages. Our instructors can teach in multiple languages.

    • Theory
Once you’ve signed up for the course, you will receive a code from us. The code gives you access to the course material and is unique for you and you only. Use the code to access the PADI Open Water Diver Touch on any iOS or Android tablets. The PADI Open Water Diver Touch is an interactive learning tool for you to learn the theory easily. It contains scuba diving facts, principals and safety concepts made simple for everyone to learn. There are also quizzes and videos to enhance your learning. Have a look at the PADI Open Water Touch demo video.

Every student must complete the Knowledge Development (PADI’s term for simple questions) at the end of each chapter and complete the final exam before you can be signed off as a certified diver. Good news is, you can do all of this before coming to us in the comfort of your own home. We will then go through any questions you may have when you arrive here. Alternatively, you may enjoy our study lounge here at iDivecenter and go through your PADI Open Water Diver Touch with a cup of complimentary coffee. You may use your own tablet or use the ones we provide.

    • Confined Water Sessions
All Confined Water Sessions are done in our swimming pool. Your instructor will explain and demonstrate all the skills for you. We will also check if you are able to swim and feel comfortable in the water. All the sessions will be done in 1-2 days so you will have plenty of time to practise.

    • Open Water Sessions
All the open water sessions are done in the sea. In the last 2 days, you will participate in 4 open water training dives which will last 40-60 minutes each. Two of those will take you to a maximum depth of 12 meters / 40 feet and the other two dives are limited to 18 meters / 60 feet.

The first dive will be nice and easy to help you to acclimatise to the new environment. During the 3 remaining dives you will apply the skills you have already mastered in the swimming pool to open water conditions, combined with a guided tour to explore Phuket’s tropical reefs. In addition to that, you will learn about compass handling both at the surface and under water. Don’t worry, your instructor will explain how to handle the compass before getting in the water.

    What’s next
    • Dive independently with another certified diver (without professional supervision) to a maximum depth of 18 meters / 60 feet.
    • PADI Junior Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 11 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 12 meters / 40 feet.
