15 yrs old and above for PADI Scuba Diver certification
10-14 yrs old for PADI Junior Scuba Diver *
(* There is no difference to the course structure for PADI Junior Scuba Diver)
Just like the PADI Open Water Diver course, there are three main parts to the course- Theory, Confined Water sessions (in the swimming pool) and Open Water Sessions (in the sea). However, the difference is that you only do 3 confined water sessions and 2 open water dives, about half of what you would do in the PADI Open Water Course. All course materials are available in multiple languages. Our instructors can teach in multiple languages.
Once you’ve signed up for the course, you will receive a code from us. The code gives you access to the course material and is unique for you and you only. Use the code to access the PADI Open Water Diver Touch on any iOS or Android tablets. The PADI Open Water Diver Touch is an interactive learning tool for you to learn the theory easily. It contains scuba diving facts, principals and safety concepts made simple for everyone to learn. There are also quizzes and videos to enhance your learning. Have a look at the video below.
Every student must complete the Knowledge Development (PADI’s term for simple questions) at the end of the first three chapters and complete the final exam before you can be signed off as a certified diver. Good news is, you can do all of this before coming to us in the comfort of your own home. We will then go through any questions you may have when you arrive here. Alternatively, you may enjoy our study lounge here at iDivecenter and go through your PADI Open Water Diver Touch with a cup of complimentary coffee. You may use your own tablet or use the ones we provide.
▪ Confined Water Sessions
All Confined Water Sessions are done in our swimming pool. Your instructor will explain and demonstrate all the skills for you. We will also check if you are able to swim and feel comfortable in the water. All the sessions can be done in a day if not less.
▪ Open Water Sessions
All the open water sessions are done in the sea. You will participate at least 2 open water training dives which will last 40-60 minutes each. These dives will take you to a maximum depth of 12 meters / 40 feet.
The first dive will be nice and easy to help you to acclimatise to the new environment. On the second dive, you will apply the skills you have already mastered in the swimming pool to open water conditions, combined with a guided tour to explore Phuket’s tropical reefs.
▪ Dive with a professional diver to a maximum depth of 12 meters / 40 feet.
▪ Upgrade to PADI Open Water Diver by completing the remaining parts of the course (more details in FAQs).
